Obituary For Andrew Keith Clark

Sweet, beautiful, kind Andy – for the last two years of his life, he was fighting a cancerous brain tumor – the same type of cancer he had fought successfully seven years prior. He showed amazing courage and resilience and defied the odds again and again. (Indeed, the first time he was told he had only weeks to live was in 2016). He chose not to do chemotherapy and radiation and chose alternative treatments instead. We are heartbroken, but so incredibly proud of his beautiful strength of spirit. He chose to fight his battle his way, on his terms.

Andrew had requested a green burial, where the body is not embalmed but wrapped in a shroud and laid to rest in the earth. No chemicals, no lacquered coffins, no tombstones only flat granite markers and indigenous plants, so that as you walk through the gently rolling hills, it feels much more like a stroll through a nature preserve than a cemetery ... as his friend Chris mentioned, "It is just like Andy to be thinking about the environment and caring about others."

On Sunday evening, April 23, 2023, we laid to rest our beloved Andrew in a private ceremony. In an amazingly lovely gesture, the northern lights were also seen in the area that night … I think it fitting that God welcomed him to heaven with a light show. ❤️

Rest in peace my beautiful boy. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
