Obituary For Jennifer Elaine Jackson
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jennifer Elaine Jackson, who left the earth on July 25, 2025, at the age of 49 in Bertram, TX.
Jennifer was born on October 29, 1975, in Fresno, CA, to Dennis Jackson and Marsha Jackson (nèe Malone). Raised in Dinuba, CA, she was a beloved, unique individual, a lover of the arts, and a cherished member of the social work and mental health practitioner communities.
After Jennifer and wife Carrie completed their graduate degrees in Southern California in Social Work and Public Health/Dietetics respectively, they embarked on a life of adventure across Indian Country. Jennifer's career as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) was both challenging and rewarding. The Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo, and Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma are better for the care she provided their members. A true social justice warrior, she took the forgotten and disadvantaged into her heart and advocated for them fiercely.
Jennifer is survived by her adoring wife and partner of 18 years Carrie Thrasher, father Dennis (Sandy), mother Marsha Jackson, sister Hollie Jackson-Ng (Stanley), grandmother Virginia Jackson, aunts Melissa (Ron) Stevenson, Melaney (Paul) Slavin, Monica (Rick) Helzer, Gay (Richard) Deaton, father-in-law Stephen Stark, sister-in-law Sara (Kris) Stark, nephews Finnegan Warfield, Samuel Ng, Gage Janz, Kannon Behymer, fur-babies Hank, Kiddo, Wesley, Benny, and a host of other family and friends.
Special recognition goes to the "Walnut Gang," a powerful sisterhood of supportive sisters and cousins which includes Nicole Slavin, Alissa (Dean) Bruce, and Elizabeth (Ted) Ruiz, in addition to her wife and sister. No account of Jennifer's life would be complete without mention of her "chosen" family members Gared Lukoskie, Mike Cantu, "work wife" Gwen Dicapo, Kelly Anderson, pen pal Emma Salsbury, and Mario Jiminez.
Her family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff at both Texas Oncology and New Century Hospice for their compassionate care.
A celebration of life service and green burial will be held on Saturday August 2, 2025, at 10am at Morgan Oaks Eternal Preserve in Lincoln, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any animal welfare organization of your choice.
To quote a dear friend's final words to Jennifer, "Your love for people so overwhelms your ability to show it that it can make you feel like you aren't enough. I want you to know that to me, you are enough, exactly the way you are."
